BLACK ON BLACK RHYME - ATLANTA TUESDAY JUNE 05, 2007 |
Black on Black Rhyme-ATL at the Onyxx Restaurant last week was another hot show with great vibes and a crowd of 62. The drink specials and fried tilapia/french fry special was crazy! |
BIO JOURNAL TUESDAY, MAY 29 If you missed Tuesday, May 29th's show @ Onyxx Restaurant, you really missed out! Over 60 people poured in to be a part of the Southside's hottest open mic. DJ Shadow, kept the groove going all night long with his mixture of Neo-Soul and Hip-Hop. Hosts Paul D and Isis kept it exciting with raffle giveaways (nevermind that one of the giveways was another raffle ticket!) On a serious note, one lucky patron won a free meal and another won a special copy of Black on Black Rhyme's new Compilation CD, REALigion...Paul D also gave away his rap group, THER.I.P.Y.'s (www.myspace.com/theripy) new CD, Cornerstone Jones. Not bad prizes for getting into the show for FREE! Shout out to Miggie 9, Carol, Mike, D-Lord, Rod, and Dino were just a few of the fly poets that got up and did their thang on the mic. And don't get it wrong we also welcome all singers, rappers, and musicians as well. Newcomer J brought out the trumpet and played a crazy dope solo. Marvin played the piano and sang a funky original song. Sarifina also played the keys and sang one of her hits, "I Do", a hot song that's sure to make some noise in ATL's music scene. The food and drink specials were great as always. Make sure you bring at least 2 friends this week, come meet new people, and vibe with Black on Black Rhyme this Tuesday, June 5th at 9pm. One Love, Paul D |

BLACK ON BLACK RHYME - ATLANTA TUESDAY APRIL 10, 2007 8PM |
| Black on Black Rhyme-ATL at the Onyxx Restaurant Last week was another hot show with great vibes and a crowd of more than 45. The drink specials and fried tilapia/french fry special was crazy! Make sure you to come out Tuesday, April 10, for this week's FREE feature: Malik Salaam. Considered one of the backbones of Atlanta's thriving spoken word scene, Malik is a journalist, poet and organizer that has travelled the nation building a buzz and reputation for spitting some of the hottest rhymes in the game. |
Malik Salaam's destiny was written a long time before he made his debut on this planet. Words like destiny and legacy are more associated with commercials and sales gimmicks these days. Malik knows otherwise. Born, Malak Abdul Ibn-Shakur Abdus-Salaam, to Renford and Sylvia Silvera, Malik struggled to find his own voice outside of the legacy he inherited. |
