Javonte Journals: Paying the Price

  • Mood: It's geting Cold Y'all
  • Music: Still Ghetto - Jaheim
  • Journal Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands

by Javonte

Someone out there has been requesting web journals but didn’t leave a name…

What is it about anonymity that gives comfort to people?  Must have been what that Dutch filmmaker should have invested in.  If you haven’t heard, a Muslim extremist terrorist group from Morocco, in broad daylight, in Amsterdam, murdered Mr. Theo Van Gogh, great grand nephew of Vincent Van Gogh, earlier this week.  (Click here to read the entire story)

The motive was the result of this movie that he made portraying Muslim women as sexually suppressed and frustrated people because they were thought of as lower class citizens than their male counterparts.  This had every European soul in the EU outraged and the racism was seeping through their secular, everyone can be free if you are with me ideals.

I had the pleasure of viewing this film when I first came over here…I stopped on the channel because it was a naked women with nothing but her face covered on the screen…doing monologues about how she just wants her presence to be acknowledged and that she really doesn’t care for here uncles and any of her father’s friends sexual displays of affection.

The thing that kept me tuned in besides my obvious intrigue of the naked women on regular T.V., moreover public broadcast, was that she was stating all of these wrong things done to her so matter-of-factly, like she had know clue that it was wrong…like this was her and her people’s way and she knew nothing better.  Well three months later, some people whom obviously disagreed with this film and the filmmaker, murdered him.

So anonymity in this case would have been a good thing.  Especially if you want to talk about something you have no idea about.  I don’t know if his findings for the basis of the film were accurate, probably not, but he should have done more extensive research.  The type of research that requires one to get their head out of their own ass and look at the rest of the world.

He should have noticed that the group of people he was going to make a film about, assuming they were staunch right wing-conservative-religious-extremist, have known to run planes into buildings, strap bombs on their bodies and go out O-Dog style, and my personal favorite and the one that one really should have informed him to Let Op (that is Dutch for “watch out”), is their ability to have enough balls to just throw rocks or other inanimate objects at planes and tanks, while the planes and tanks are assaulting them with missiles and deadly assault weapons.

I think any of this type of research would have afforded him the artistic vision he needed to complete this film in a way that may have spared his life.  What I am trying to get at here is that there is a cost that must be paid to be the boss.  In this case, it was obviously my man’s life.

So, why am I writing this?  Did I write this to show my support of the people who 86ed Van Gogh?  Hell naw, of course not, murder sucks…Just ask Dubbya.

Did I write it to inform everyone who reads this of a world topic?  Not really, I care as much about “world issues” as I care about the last election.  Well, for one, whomever Mr./Mrs. Anonymous is requested more web journals so I feel like I should oblige.

Two, because I can only take so much bull shit about how awful a certain group of people are before it starts to sound similar to my own peoples plight and our oppressors back talk, so I must TALK BACK.

Three, because I am bored and it’s Friday and I don’t have nothing else to do, might as well get high…on words of course.

And four, because in my normal round about way, I am trying to inform people of the value of understanding the price that you may have to pay, before you get involved with things.  Understanding the true market value for what you may involve yourself in is really priceless.

So before someone shouts revolution, try to, by introspection, define the true market value of this ambiguous ideal or action.  Before someone sets a goal of freedom, find out what people have been paying for that, and then see if the poem or words or rhetoric that have been offered for it is enough.

Before someone decides to obtain anything, see how much the group that you plan to get it from paid for it, and understand that you are going to have to pay more.  Except for salvation, it is my belief that Jesus paid it all.  But even with that, I implore and beseech everyone to DO THE RESEARCH.  I promise you, if done right, you will have no surprises.  You will know the exact cost is takes to be the boss.

Shout Out to everyone who reads this, shoot me an email if you do, or leave a comment.

J the anonymous person who asked for journals was "me"
I am only asking because I am interested in how much you have impacted and have been impacted by your sorroundings. I also understand that we live through each and every member who has taken up this cross to lead and be led by that "thing" that has driven each of us to do so.

these are my efforts to stay connected and remind you that we are all connected.

I also understand that in any case blood is thicker than water. speaking of/in everyway we are connected, by culture, ancestrial heritage and THE GREATEST and MOST RELEVANT the blood of Christ (ye must be born again!). Reminding me, you and everyone abroad to be not conformed to the ways of this world, but be ye transformed by the RENEWing of your minds.

Reminding all of relevance to the MATRIX. You CAN be IN this world but not OF it.

This world of many gods, who knows no God but himself.

Who's boasted achievements here breed blasphemous lies against the existence, purpose and power of God in/for His people.

But if MY PEOPLE who are called by MY name would humble themselves and pray, then shall they hear from heaven and I will heal the land". The fervent effectual prayer of the *righteous availeth much.

Your vote don't count in a system that doesn't include you and your revolutionary blood shed is irrelevant/fruitless if there is no change of heart and/or mind.

If there is no will to move the wheels of change.
education is nothing without the understanding/practice of it's principles and/or the wisdom to use it.

The task is to break up the fallow ground! destroy the temple and rebuild it's foundation.

War is first fought in the spirit!
Freedom starts in the mind!
Peace grows in the heart of man!

Knowing IS half of the battle.

and I will babble on until Babylon is defeated by Zion.

Hey Jevonte..

Per your request I'm letting you know that I do read your journal. :)
I sent you an e-mail a couple weeks back, however I'm not the most computer saavy individual so its a long shot that you even received it.
I do agree with your assertion that many of us have no idea of the price we have to pay by being involved in any particular thing.
Spending 5+ years in SBI can teach you that kind of thing.

Take care

Good journal! That's interesting about Van Gogh. Did you think the film was dissin Muslims or was he just trying to make a point?

How are people over there reacting to the American elections??

I entirely agree with Ali's poem. At all costs my freedom of speech is important to me, as a "free" human being furthermore as a "writer." I sympathize to the upmost. However, I do think he stood bold in the point that he had the ability to say what he felt without apology or withdrawel which is more than I can say for most people.
