Famous Radio Personality Calls Ladies College Team "Nappy Headed Ho's" And "Jiggaboos"

During a radio interview on his simulcasted radio show on MSNBC, Imus referred to athletes of the Rutgers basketball team as “nappy-headed ho’s” and "jiggaboos," after they lost the NCAA championship to the University of Tennessee.  The Rutgers team, which includes eight black women, had lost the day before in the NCAA women's championship game. Imus was speaking with producer Bernard McGuirk about the game when the exchange began on "Imus in the Morning," which is broadcast to millions of people on more than 70 stations and MSNBC.

Several prominent personalities and groups have come out in outraged protest of Don Imus and WFAN radio including Rev Al Sharpton, the NAACP and National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ).  "As NABJ strives to dispel stereotypes and promote accurate portrayals of minorities in the media, we find this characterization of these young black women offensive and hateful," said Barbara Ciara, NABJ vice president/broadcast in a statement.

First Micheal "KKKramer" Richards and now this guy.  Personally I am not surprised that we are starting to hear more and more hate rhetoric in this country ever since 9/11 but I am really apalled at the level at which these guys are spreading their hate speech they know it's going to be heard by millions and as professionals, they are very aware of the impact.  We are in the middle of a psychological warfare because these guys are saying things on purpose and then going around and apologising when the damage has been done.

I can care less about his apology, but I would like to see his career buried under a rock.   Call/email and let your voice be heard.
